Coach Lee is transgender and helps people create fulfilling friendships and relationships that they deserve. For several years, he didn’t have supportive people who knew who he was. Lee always thought that he knew what to do when it came to making friends BUT many times, even though he had friends, Lee found himself very lonely. That’s because when it comes to making friends, as in really building meaningful friendships and relationships, Lee was doing more damage than I realised.

Since then, he has dedicated his life to helping others overcome the loneliness that comes from not making close friends. Lee believes that life feels more complete when you have people to share it with.

During this episode, Lee and I have an open and transparent conversation about the following topics and more:

  • What it means to be a friend to yourself and the importance of sharing your truth
  • Lee’s experience of when he shared that he was transgender to a person
  • Taking time out to get to know who you are and create boundaries
  • The power of pronouns – Lee’s breaks this down beautifully
  • Why society gives people who don’t follow gender norms a hard time
