The current skincare wave doesn’t seem to have an end in sight— which is a great thing, of course! Your skin is the body’s largest organ which means it definitely deserves some TLC!
Taking care of your skin doesn’t just ensure it looks great for years and years to come, it is also a form of self-care and destressing. However, sometimes it can get really overwhelming with the sheer number of products and steps that seem to be being added to the standard skincare regimen every day. And let’s be real, we don’t all have time for a 10-step Korean beauty routine or to devote an hour every morning and night to our skin—we are busy women with things to do!
That’s why I’ve put together a few super easy skincare tips that will shave time off your regimen without sacrificing the quality of your skin! If this sounds like exactly what you’ve been looking for—keep reading!
1. Power-packed products
This year especially, we’ve seen the rise of 2-in-1 and even 3-in-1 skincare products which feature potent ingredients that can help consolidate your skincare routine. More isn’t always better and multi-use skincare is extremely time-effective! Having a singular product that can act as a moisturizer and serum or a moisturizer, serum and sunscreen is a game change because now you’re able to cut your steps in half. Key tip is to make sure that these products have high quality active ingredients to make sure you’re getting bang for your buck!
2. Skip the toner
If you have a high-quality cleanser (highly recommend one with salicylic acid), then a toner, which often is just an additional cleansing step may not be necessary. While some beauty experts are major toner advocates, the general consensus is that it can be omitted from your routine once you have a really good cleanser!
3. Or grab micellar water
For those nights where you are too tired to take off your makeup or mornings where you just want a few more minutes to snooze, micellar water is great for cleansing when you’re in a pinch! The micelles in micellar water are great at mopping up dirt, oil, grime and makeup while keeping your skin looking hydrated and moisturized—a win-win!
4. Maximise your moisturiser
This trick is an oldie but a goodie—adding a few drops of foundation to your moisturiser is a major time-saving hack, especially in those hot summer months when you aren’t trying to wear layers and layers of makeup. A few drops can give you pretty decent coverage while adding moisture to your skin!
5. SPF, please
While this might not seem like a hack—the truth is, sometimes the most important aspect of your regimen is a broad spectrum SPF (30 or more). A lot of the time we are adding more and more products to combat issues like uneven skin tone and hyperpigmentation when a good SPF could make a major difference in your regimen. Don’t skip your SPF, please!
